Renee Shaening joined MVP as an Associate in 2010. Prior to MVP, Renee spent three years working as an Associate at Venturi & Company, LLC, a middle-market investment banking firm that provides advice in relation to mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, private placements, strategic alliances and other corporate finance matters. As an Associate, Renee’s responsibilities spanned the entire transactional process from origination to closing, including constructing financial models, crafting memorandums, preparing management presentations, contacting prospective financial/strategic parties, negotiating deal terms and facilitating due diligence.

Prior to joining Venturi & Company LLC, Renee worked as a Senior Associate for Environmental Risk Communications Inc. (“ERCI”), a strategy consulting firm specializing in environmental liability portfolio optimization. Before ERCI, Renee spent several years working as a Financial Analyst at Kagan Research (now SNL Kagan), a Monterey-based research and consulting group focused on the media and communications sector. During her tenure at Kagan, Renee developed and maintained extensive financial models to analyze the performance of public cable companies and forecast industry trends. She also provided fair market valuations and specialized consulting to a wide variety of media industry executives.

Renee holds an MBA with a finance focus from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University
